Frieze New York 2017

The Responsive I’s Editor-in-chief Eva Zanardi set out to find the most divergent and groundbreaking artworks within Minimalist, Op, and Kinetic art at this year’s Frieze Art Fair.

Check out this year’s highlights below:

1- More galleries showed 20th-century art than ever before.

2- Tribal art was featured for the first time, with the inclusion of three noteworthy dealers: Entwistle Gallery, Galerie Meyer, and Donald Ellis.

3- There are no plans for a New York edition of Frieze Masters.

4- There was deeper coverage of Latin American art, especially work from Brazil.

5- The fair included sections such as “Frame,” which featured galleries founded after 2009, and “Projects,” which focused on special installations of politically reflective work and emerging art action.
